  Recommended Reads for Storytime:
   The books listed here were chosen primarily for K-3rd grades, but some can be enjoyed by 4th-6th grades also.  They were chosen because they only take 5-7 minutes each to read.  Some are noted and others are just listed.

Just Open a Book / P. K. Hallinan.  A rhyming story which highlights the different genres and characters that can be found, if you just open a book!

I Took My Frog to the Library / Eric A. Kimmel.  A girl and her pets take entertaining visits to their library which show the different services the children can find there.

Can You Guess Where We're Going? / Elvira Woodruff.  Where can you go to find monkeys, mountains, sea turtles, dinosaurs, knights, castles, fire breathing dragons and cookies?  Keep the students guessing along with the boy in the book.  The answer is revealed in the last page. 

Book! Book! Book! / When school begins and the farm animals are left at home and bored, they set out to town to find something to do.

The story and illustrations are designed to educate primary school children in proper book care. The main character, Marion, is modeled on a real pet hedgehog who lived in the elementary media center!
